5/28/2008 ------ OFFICER NOMINATIONS
Gentlemen, and all you ladies,
It is time for us to begin the process of officer selection for this coming year. The first step is the nominations process in which each club member (player) is entitled to one nomination for each position. You may nominate yourself. The positions, as of now, are:
President;
Vice President;
Secretary / Treasurer;
Social Chair; and
Match Secretary.
Please be advised that other positions, such as Field Secretary, may fall under larger roles such as Match Secretary, and will be filled by a method to be determined at a later date.
Respond ONLY TO ME with your nominations! The nomination process wil close at the end of the day on Monday, June 9, at which time the present officers will be forced to finish nominations for all positions where there has been no nominee, so take an active part in the future of this club and the direction it takes. Elections will be held at a later date once the nomination process has been completed.
I will be happy to answer any questions you may have to the best of my ability.

Hilton Head Gators soundly defeated the 1st place team in the division this weekend (3/29/08) to earn a playoff spot. HHIRFC concluded the season with a 6-2 record extending a home winning streak to 11 games. Scoring tries in the victory were Craig Fenstermaker, Todd Cleveland and Craig Hysel. Jason Carnes was 1 for 2 in penalty kicks and 1-1 in try conversions; Carnes also added a drop goal in the victory. The entire team played extremely well and as a cohesive unit. Special thanks are due to our wonderful fans that continue to support us week in and week out. Man of the Match was awarded to our comeback scrum half Grant Goodrich and honorable mention was awarded to Wells Fulton.

HHI vs Savannah Loss 6-16
We needed to get off to a better start, I thought we had our best available team on the field but we just didn't play as a cohesive unit. Scrums were pretty good, they'd push us we'd push them. I think we only lost one ball and we wheeled them twice. We'd have good support for the 1st banger then the next runner would be solo.

The last two weeks Hilton Head has continued the winning streak and has not given up a try in the last two games. Below you can see some videos of the Brunswick game.

Hilton Head claimed victory in the season opener on a rainy and cold day Valdosta. The final score was 36-12. The team was hyped to play after watching Vision Quest and Rocky IV on the bus ride down. Once again the team has problems with transportation; the bus that we were to ride on got in a wreck at 6:15a.m. and another bus had to be dispatched from Charleston to get the HHIRFC on the road to thier first victory.
HHIRFC dominated play in the first half with possesion inside the oppenents 22 for much of the half. Poor ball handling was responsible for HHIRFC having trouble getting into the try zone.
